Pastoral Care is highly valued at Morningside. We have a variety of ways in which we provide pastoral care to the congregation.
Deacons are lay members of the congregation who have been set apart by the church and ordained for the task of leading the church and ministering to the members. Each week the church has four deacons on call who are available to those who need care - especially during times of hospitalization or bereavement.
If you are hospitalized for any reason, please let the pastoral staff know so that we can make a visit. Both our deacons and pastoral staff make visits to the local hospitals. We also have a pastor on call on weekends and holidays.
Survivor's of Suicide of Spartanburg (SOS)
SOS meets on the second Monday of each month at Morningside in Room 422. This group is for family and friends who have lost a loved to suicide. The group is open to anyone who wants to find support in the midst of their loss.
Keep in Touch Ministry
Our homebound ministry reaches out to individuals who are limited in their ability to get out and socialize with others. Anyone who is a part of this group may request that CD's of the Sunday worship services be mailed to them free of charge. Teams of volunteers visit or contact these church members on a monthly basis.
